Katie and Bergia are the founders and directors of Pittwater Eco Adventures; an Environmental Education company born in Sydney’s Northern Beaches in 2020. It’s driving pillars are Adventure, Conservation and Community; things they feel are crucial to a sound company and a good life. To appreciate what’s around you and actively protect it from harm.
Having run school and community events in eco-tourism and environmental programs for many years (including the first ever beach cleanup at Manly cove which is still active over 6 years on!) they soon realised that human impact on the environment was evident everywhere, and had be an urgent and integral focus in everything they ran from there-on in.
Reshaping Waste was the project born from here, and is a core part of the programs they run; from Duke of Edinburgh and school service-learning programs, to school and Council-backed incursions and excursions across Sydney, Reshaping Waste is at the heart of every program; encouraging everyone involved to be a Custodian of this precious place and to move mindfully through it.
When you get in touch, come on a program or have a workshop in your school, you will almost certainly see Katie and Bergia, who find the most joy from being out, doing the work and connecting with this wonderful community.
